Kikkawa College has been instrumental in leading the way in the growth of the Massage Therapy and Shiatsu Therapy professions in Canada. Over the years of its existence ICT Schools has made many professional contributions which include:

 
  • The development and adaptation of orthopedic assessment methods currently used by massage therapists today;
  • Expansion to a 2200-hour program doubling the educational standards in Ontario in the 1980’s;
  • The first provincially registered Shiatsu Therapy program in Ontario;
  • The first Massage Therapy Teacher Certification Program;
  • Exclusive access to Suikodo® Therapy training developed by Sensei Mitsuki Kikkawa, Shiatsu Master.

Department of Education Provides Educational Expertise

 

Kikkawa College’s Department of Education, comprised of education experts, is dedicated to the development of curriculum that meets high academic standards and reflects an integrated and holistic approach to health care education. Exclusive to Kikkawa College is Student-Centered-Interactive-Learning (SCIL) developed by ICT Schools’ Department of Education to facilitate the student learning process. The quality of our curriculum is reflected in the fact that Kikkawa College has been approved as an education provider for Athabasca University. Graduates of the Kikkawa College Massage Therapy program can transfer up to 30 Massage Therapy program credits towards a university degree.

Driving Directions
 
(2-hour free parking available in the Crossways Mall parking garage)
 
 
Driving from the east along Lakeshore Blvd.:
 

Drive east along Lakeshore Blvd. to Parkside Drive. Go north to Bloor St. W. and turn right. Drive east to the second set of traffic lights at Dundas W./Bloor St W. and turn left. The Crossways Mall is located on the north/east corner. Drive slightly past the building and make an immediate right into the driveway and then right again for the public parking garage.

 
 
Driving from the west along Lakeshore Blvd.:
 

Drive west along the QEW to the Lakeshore Blvd. exit, continue east along Lakeshore to Parkside Drive and turn left. Go north to Bloor St. W. and turn right. Drive east to the second set of traffic lights at Dundas W./Bloor St W. and turn left. The Crossways Mall is located on the north/east corner. Drive slightly past the building and make an immediate right into the driveway and then right again for the public parking garage.

 
 
Driving along HWY 401
 

Follow Black Creek Drive from either 401 East or West directions and drive south to Weston Road – turn left at the traffic lights. Weston Road becomes Keele Ave. at St. Clair W. Continue driving until you reach Bloor St. W. – turn left. Drive east to the second set of traffic lights at Dundas W/Bloor St W. and turn left.

College Facilities

 

Facilities at Kikkawa College include academic and practical classrooms with blackboards, overhead projectors, and access to TV, VCR and DVD equipment. Practical rooms are fully equipped. Teaching Clinic is held on site utilizing practical rooms. A student lounge, with computer access, Student Association Office, reception area and administrative offices complete the facilities.
